Job Description:

 We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mainframe technologies and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions. As a Mainframe Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications to meet the needs of our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using languages such as COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, and JCL.
• Collaborate with business analysts, systems analysts, and other developers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform unit testing and debugging of mainframe applications to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Optimize application performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Work closely with database administrators to integrate mainframe applications with backend databases.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest mainframe technologies and best practices.
• Provide support and troubleshooting for production issues as needed.
• Document technical specifications, procedures, and guidelines for mainframe applications.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of mainframe technologies, including COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, JCL, CICS, and VSAM.
• Experience with mainframe development tools such as IBM z/OS, ISPF, TSO, and Endevor.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
• Experience with modernizing legacy mainframe applications is desirable.
• Certifications in mainframe technologies are advantageous.
